PALIMPSEST
Compositions through musical borrowings from original harp repertoire
In a total duration of twenty minutes, comprised of five songs, the “Palimpsesto” EP is an artistic project that unfolded throughout the academic year 2023/24. Its standout feature lies essentially in the use of original classical pieces for harp as the foundation for the new compositions that constitute the album.
The project aims to, through a fusion of classical and modern styles, introduce the harp and its repertoire to as wide an audience as possible, providing an unexplored perspective on the instrument, as complex and versatile as it is, thus avoiding its obsolescence.
As a communion of the arts, combined in their various disciplines, and coexistence between past centuries and the present, Claudia advocates for the artist’s creativity and aspires to share beauty and sensitivity.
COVER ART AND TEXTS FOR COMPOSERS
Claudia Moreno Fraile professionally collaborated by writing the original texts for three musical compositions created by Telmo Sans Ruiz, which were presented at various national and international competitions, including the 2023 Orfeó Català Vocal Composition Competition. Additionally, she was the author of the art covers for these compositions, as well as for other works by the same composer.
